    Documenting Euthansia drugs

Thursday, August 21, 2008, 01:56 PM EST [General]

Hi,  It's Lisa from the CCSPCA again.  I'd like to know if anyone is using PP's "Euth. log for tracking thier dogs, usage etc.  and not keeping a paper record.  My concern is wether or not I have to keep a paper log of all the drug usage with signatures, or can I just keep track of it in PP with out the paper trail and signatures.

Thank you again for your help

We did both- kept a log on the amount of fatal plus, who administered, dates, etc as well as input it into PP. Thanks, Mary Bart Houston

We do keep a paper record and it lives in the room where the solution is used and is monitored/crosschecked for accuracy. Whether or not the electronic record is enough depends (at the minimum) on your comfort level that the data entry is always done correctly and at the maximum on any state or local regulations.

We use paper back-up and also put the information in Pet Point. It does seem like more work but it has saved us when staff makes minor mistakes.
