    Gas Chambers in Animal Shelters

    I find it absolutely alarming and unsettling that in this day and time we still have animal shelters using gas chambers as opposed to humane euthanasia by injection.  What can we do to make this change?  How can we help?  Any ideas, information would be greatly appreciated.

    Education for the shelters that still have the chambers. There are several articles out there how it is very inhumane. Various size animals are put into these chambers at the same time and the animals absorb the gas at a different rate. Some don't die and others die a very slow and agonizing death. Many states are banning these chambers rightly so! Advocates in the areas of these shelters still using them need to write letters and protest the use of this method.

    What can we do about this?



    Is there a list of shelters in the US that gas? Can we lobby with someone in the Federal level?
